Karman Ghia clock guts. I paid $5 for this (used) clock at the BugOut Bug Show. I saw others for sale. My clock apparently had one problem that I didn't have to open it up to fix: bad ground. Make sure the little copper tab under the spanner nut on the rear of the clock is well grounded, and clean of corrosion. To get those nuts off, I ground a square notch in a screwdriver blade.
If that doesn't fix things, then open the clock. In these images you can see the contacts that the electromagnetic winder uses. Over the years they get some carbon buildup. I carefully filed mine with a jewelers file I happen to have.
