Honda Shadow VLX Left Side Cover Upgrade
It is hard to see in this photo, but I used my Dremel grinder to cut a notch near the front of the left side cover. The problem was that I could never get the front mount point of the cover to line up with the hole in the frame.
I put my finger in the notch to feel for the mount tab and its insertion point. I can easily get the cover positioned quickly.
This may seem like a trivial problem until you spend a frustrating 5 minutes trying to get the front of the cover to snap into place. I don't mind plastic parts, but this design was just dumb. The notch cures the problem.
