FAQ 56
Question: I have just purchased a 1974 VW bug and the engine is in a few pieces and I don't have a clue how to put it back together. Can you tell me the name of a good book? I don't have much experience with engines so the easier the book the better!! Answer: I always recommend John Muir's great book "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive" to every VW owner. My full review is at: http://laudeman.com/bug_b_1562614800.html You should also get a good engine specific book. The "Hot VWs" engine book: Bill Fisher's "How to Hot Rod Volkswagen Engines" has a couple chapters on engine rebuilds: http://laudeman.com/bug_b_0912656034.html
